Knitted Cup Cozy

Here's my knit or crochet friendly recipe to make a cup cozy!

Materials:

  • 2 Skeins of different coloured yarn (I've used purple and lime green for mine)
  • Crochet hook or knitting needles
Directions For Crochetting:

  1. Chain around 13 loops, measure around your cup to make sure it fits all the way around
  2. Crochet normally three rows
  3. Switch in second colour, if you do not know how to do this you can refer to our changing colour presentation here.
  4. Crochet using new colour for 5 rows or desired width of cozy
  5. Cut end of yarn so you have at least 5 inches worth of extra
  6. Thread extra yarn through with the crochet hook as if you were hand stitching to make the long flat piece you have just made into a cylinder shape
  7. Fit over your cup of choice!!
Directions For Knitting:
  1. Cast on around 13 stitiches, measure up to your cup of choice as best you can
  2. Alternate knit one row, purl the next for a smooth finish, or knit all rows for a puffier finish. Stop after three rows
  3. Switch in second colour, if you do not know how to do this, you can refer to our changing colour presentation here.
  4. Knit/Purl another 5 rows or desired width of cozy
  5. Cut end of yarn so you have at least 5 inches worth of extra
  6. Thread extra yarn through with the crochet hook as if you were hand stitching to make the long flat piece you have just made into a cylinder shape
  7. Fit over your cup of choice!!
